Welcome to the new web blog of Hollow Angling Society.
Hollow Angling Society, known locally as HAS is a small fishing club with fishing lakes and river fishing along the North to North East corner of the M25 corridor covering fishing in Outer London, Essex and Hertfordshire, ranging from ideal junior ponds to serious Carp fishing waters.
We are members of the Turnford Angling Consortium controlling the Slipe Lane fishery in the Lea Valley Regional Park, consisting of Railway, Marsh, Lea and Boot pits, well known for their specimen fish especially the resident Carp.
Other fisheries are Passingford Pond near Abridge in Essex and Paradise Lake in the Warlies Estate between Woodford and Epping. We also have tickets for the Lea Relief Channel between Waltham Abbey and Waltham Cross.
We are members of The Angling Trust.
Matches are arranged on a regular basis throughout the year to other waters in London and Essex.
Our membership is limited each year to ensure our fisheries are not over fished, with existing members coming mainly from the East London, South Essex and Hertfordshire areas, covering boroughs such as Walthamstow, Chingford, Woodford, Wanstead, Redbridge, Loughton, Debden, Epping, Hainault, Barking and Romford.

Morning all, I have been a member of HAS for a couple of seasons now, and have fished many of its waters, i have to say that for the specimen fishermen, anyone one wanting specimen Carp Pike Tench the Turnford complex is well worth a look. This complex is looked after by a consortium of fishing clubs who all have their work parties who keep this complex in very good order.
ReplyDeleteFor the angler who stays for a few days, the swims are well made, and offers swims that allow overnight shelters with enough room to be comfortable. The vunue is well marshaled with bailiffs from all the clubs taking turns to do their duties. You will be asked to produce your permits and litter in any of the swims is your responsibility, whether its yours or not, so more reason to keep our fishery clear of litter, if you bring it to the venue make sure you take it away.
Throughout the summer, and winter months this venue has plenty of anglers, from my own experience i have found all of the members from the various clubs very knowledgeable and helpful.
2 rod maximum and apparently penalties should a member get caught with more. The four lakes on this venue all hold specimen fish and the names of each lake is Railway, Marsh, Lee, and Boot, Keep to the rules in the handbook and enjoy your fishing, we are all members and its in the interest of all of us, to keep venues like this as we find it. I have found it quite tough, but others have had the specimen fish out, the fish are there, are you clever enough to catch them, Enjoy your experience and good luck, Tight lines
